Definition – What is video

Video or motion picture is a digital implementation of dynamic and moving picture or image that generally run on digital video format supported device. It can be also played on an analog device that is capable of video format called analog video system. It is basically an electronic medium. Nowadays, the video stream is very popular widely and capable on almost any digital device such as Smartphone or Computer with a number of format and types. Analog video system is not used today.

Analog Video System

At first, the video system concept was implemented in a mechanical television system. It was analog video system. But there was trouble and problems occurred while playing the video then after a significant research the mechanical television was replaced with CRT which means Cathode ray tube. But at this time some two researchers () invented display device for playing back the video on the screen, as well as the first Video tape recorder invented for capturing the live video.

Digital Video System

Digital video fully integrated with digital format and types. It has been adopted higher compressed quality with high-quality devices and hardware such as digital visual interface, Serial digital interface etc. Digital video played on digital computer monitor or smartphone’s various display type such as LCD.

Nowadays most video playing system is online video streaming that is widely used. Most video streaming site such as Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion etc.
